Talks of Merging HeadsUp Entertainment with an Online Poker Company
18.03.2010 -HeadsUp Entertainment International Inc. (PINK SHEETS: HDUP) announced that it is talking to one of the largest online poker companies in the world regarding the Canadian Poker Tour. Two possible scenarios are co-branding the event or purchasing the rights to it.
Recently the Canadian online poker market has grown significantly and industry experts believe it is now the second biggest market after the UK. This made some of the largest online poker companies contact HeadsUp CEO Kelly Kellner and initiate negotiations.
With its Canadian Poker Tour, Canadian Poker Player Magazine and the recently launched Canadian Poker Player Television Network, HeadsUp is one of the leading poker brand names in Nroth America. Its products reach more than 40,000,000 poker players, representing a considerable market size.
Kelly Kellner commented, "Over the next 12 months, we will manage more than 550 casino-based events in Canada, Costa Rica the Dominican Republic and our Poker Super Cruise, which will attract some of the best poker players in North America. As a result of our relationships with the casinos, some of them exclusive, the online poker companies are realizing that our market reach allows them to market their platforms to players in North America.’
