Sammy Farha Wins $10,000 Omaha 8 Or Better Event at WSOP 2010
16.06.2010 -Poker pro Sammy Farha added close to half a million dollars this week after winning the WSOP $10,000 Omaha 8 or better event. He defeated the other more than 200 players in the course of three days and won himself a WSOP bracelet.
The famous poker player has accumulated over $2,300,000 from live tournament winnings ever since he started playing professionally, 7 cashes from WSOP events totaling just above $2 million. The list of his gold bracelets includes $2,500 Pot Limit Omaha in 1996, $5,000 Limit Omaha 8/B in 2006, and the $10,000 World Championship Limit Omaha 8/B at this year’s event. In the 2003 WSOP Farha finished second, cashing $1.3 million, after taking a beat from Chris Moneymaker with two pairs on the flop.
Asked about his affection with poker and its role in his life, he said: “I love the game. I enjoy the game. This is my hobby. This is my business. This is everything, you know. I enjoy it and that’s why I do it. You have to enjoy the game to be good at it.”
