Carlos Mortensen wins WPT Hollywood Poker Open
25.03.2010 -Carlos Mortensen won his third WPT event so far and added almost $400,000 to his poker earnings at the WPT Hollywood Poker Open. He defeated the 143 players in the course of five days before he took a seat at the final table.
Six players sat at the final table of the tournament. After only 37 hands three were already running on very slim stacks. Heads-up between Mike Mustafa and Carlos ‘El Matador’ offered an interesting course of play as well, and Mike was soon out of chips taking the runner-up prize of $223,623.
After WPT Hollywood Open Carlos Mortensen’s tournament earning amount to $9.6 million. With $5.7 million won in WPT events, this makes him the all-time World Poker Tour money winner. The poker pro received his $25,500 seat to the WPT World Championship in April at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, NV.
